On the 16th of January, 2016, the Department of Psychology organised a workshop on Play Therapy. The session was conducted by Dr. Lavina Nanda, a developmental psychologist and play therapist. She gave us a great insight into the importance of play, in children as well as in adults, and how it can be used to overcome psychological disorders. The workshop was extremely interactive, and Dr. Nanda had us getting in touch with the child within us, as we walked around the Manju Bharat Ram Conference Hall barefeet, played with wool, dolls and puppets, and shared our childhood experiences.
This workshop was one of those rare experiences which leave you feeling thoroughly satisfied at having explored a new aspect of psychology, and the sheer number of people who showed up for it at 9:30 a.m. on a freezing cold Saturday morning is testimony enough of its success.
